Application of laser technology in automobile interior decoration

Release time: 2022-09-27 15:46:03 Views: 1322

Automobile market competition is becoming more and more fierce, interior design is more and more rich, processing technology is also constantly upgraded, more interior using laser technology to design and production, application is also more and more widely. Compared with traditional manufacturing technology, laser technology has many advantages, and plays an increasingly important role in design and manufacturing.

What is laser technology

Laser processing technology is the use of laser beam and material interaction characteristics, the material (including metal and non-metal) cutting, welding, surface treatment, drilling and micro machining and so on a processing technology.

Advantages of laser technology

The processing precisionSmall point of light, concentrated energy, small heat affected zone. The laser beam is easy to focus, guide and automate. No burrs on the cutting surface
High efficiencyCan be immediately according to the computer output of the pattern for high-speed engraving and cutting, and the speed of laser cutting compared with the speed of linear cutting is much faster.
Less wasteLaser processing using computer programming, can be different shape of the product material set, maximize the utilization of materials, greatly reduce the cost of materials.
non-contactIt will not cause mechanical extrusion or mechanical stress to the material. No pollution to the workpiece.
High flexibilityIt is not limited by the quantity of processing and can be processed in small batches
Wide range of fanAlmost any material can be carved and cut.

What are the applications of laser technology in automotive interior decoration

The application of laser technology in interior decoration mainly includes cutting, texture, marking, drilling and surface weakening. Interior parts from the steering wheel, dashboard, seats, buttons, and many other positions can be found.

1. Laser cutting and drilling

High power density laser beam is used to illuminate the material to be cut, and the material is quickly heated to the vaporization temperature, and the evaporation forms holes. With the movement of the beam to the material, the holes continuously form a very narrow slit to complete the cutting of the material.

This can be achieved by using a continuous CO2 laser to process low-heat, high-absorption materials, such as thin plastic films and non-melting materials such as wood, paper and foam.

Ultra-short pulse lasers allow the technology to be applied to other materials. The free electrons in the metal absorb the laser and heat up violently. The laser pulse does not react with the molten particles and plasma, and the material sublimates directly, leaving no time to transfer energy as heat to the surrounding material. Picosecond pulses ablation of the material without significant thermal effects, no melting and burr formation.

The laser vaporizes and burns the material. The pressure of the vapor causes the slag to escape through the cut

Laser cutting processing is more accurate, exquisite operation, complete automatic cutting, control cutting quality, to achieve the best precision and speed of product processing. By properly controlling the power of laser cutting machine, multi-layer accurate cutting can be realized, and flexible and fast drawing cutting can be carried out according to the interior size of different models, so as to improve the flexibility of product processing and multiply the efficiency of product processing.

2. Laser texture

The laser is used to carve the designed texture pattern on the mold, and the product with the texture can be produced using this mold, which can achieve the texture pattern that cannot be completed by the traditional etching method. The processing process is less than the traditional etching process, the software processing after the mold can be automatically processed.

Free textures can be processed on any complex 3D workpiece without worrying about process limitations, and 3D geometric textures can be sculpted to present three-dimensional effects, as well as more suitable for parametric design, to unleash the creativity of designers

3. Laser marking

Laser marking is a marking method that uses high energy density laser to illuminate the workpiece locally, so that the surface material vaporizes or has a chemical reaction of color change, so as to leave a permanent mark.

The beam output from the laser is controlled by two mirrors mounted on a high-speed precision motor to achieve beam movement marking. Each mirror moves along a single axis. Motor movement speed is very fast, and the inertia is very small, which can achieve the rapid marking of the target object. The reflector-guided beam is focused using an F-θ lens with the focus on the marked plane. When the focused beam interacts with the marked object, the object is "marked". Except for the marked position, the other surfaces of the object remain the same.

In the processing of automotive interior products, laser marking machine can also be used for a variety of automotive interior products, such as leather, cloth, wood, synthetic materials, accurate and efficient graphics. Including logo addition, personality graphic interpretation, wonderful carving, etc.

The decoration of the products can be increased by marking the graphics of the laser seat cover, inner lining, steering wheel, seat belt, floor mat and other products, so as to create a more delicate and fashionable automobile interior decoration experience.

This process does not need to touch the surface of the processed item, so any abnormal surface material can be quickly marked, and the workpiece will not deformation and internal stress.

4. Surface weakening

In the current automobile manufacturing industry, it has become a trend to integrate airbag covers into dashboards, door walls or other car interior parts. The new process is called an "integral airbag."

The processing methods of weakening with laser technology, high-energy laser beam in the form of fixed frequency pulse, playing on the dashboard, the focus of material quickly after the absorption of high-energy laser gasification, formed through or not through holes, these holes area material thickness thinning, the breaking strength is reduced, which can, when hit from the outside world first break. This combination of many sequential microholes is what we commonly call an airbag line.

Through the surface weakening process, the interior surface can be complete, can be applied to the instrument panel, the inner wall of the car door and other parts of the hole and surface weakening.
